To get through the MGM and onto the strip takes another 5-10mins depending on how you walk. Our walk, from our room on 31st floor, took 7mins to reach the MGM, including the elevator time, for me that is no big deal, but we do a lot of walking. Used the the Cafe in Tower 2 and was also good. Helpful reception, concierge, room service, cleaning, had no problems at all. Large bedroom, shower room with toilet, large bathroom with jacuzzi, shower, toilet, double sinks, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, oven, dishwasher, huge fridge/freezer, dining table, lounge room, 3 TV's (including a pop-up TV in the bedroom) and of course a nice balcony, our one was pointing towards the airport and we could see (and hear) the Wet Republic pool below.
Usually stay at the MGM but this time decided to try something different, wow! We booked a bedroom suite, but ended up on the 31st floor in a 'PH' - (penthouse?) I dont know if we were upgraded or what, but probably the best room we have ever had, anywhere.
